Making a lamp out of your own bottle is pretty easy. Of course, it’s not as easy as folding a paper airplane, you still have to deal with a drill, if you want to do everything beautifully, but still not as difficult as building a chair, for example. We describe the general principle of creating a lamp from a bottle, which you can customize to suit your own ideas. Successes!
Required materials and tools:
drill and glass drill, or
diamond disc for grinders (if you plan to cut the bottom of the bottle),
any adhesive mass that can cover the sharp edges of the drilled hole so that they do not cut the wire,
a garland or lamp with a cartridge (depending on your goals),
if desired, various decorations such as lampshade, etc.
First cool the bottle: this will ease the drilling process.
In order to drill or cut the glass, you need to be careful and careful. If suddenly someone of your friends is working with glass, you can contact this person; otherwise, do not be lazy to buy a drill on the glass: this way you will avoid unpleasant surprises in the form of a cracked or burst surface of the bottle.
After cooling the bottle, mark the point at which you plan to make a hole. Be patient: drill better slowly, letting the drill cool down from time to time. The same applies to the grinder with a diamond disc.
Drilling a hole, you have completed the most time-consuming stage of the entire work. Now you need to remove the sharp edges of the hole so that they do not cut the lamp wire. To do this, you can use sandpaper, stripping sharp edges, or any sticky mass – for example, clay. For wide openings, a fitted rubber seal for a crane is also suitable.
The final step is left – either to insert a lamp with a base in the neck of the bottle, or to fill the bottle with a garland, stretching the wire to the outlet through the drilled hole. If you cut the bottom, you need to stretch the wire of the bulb through the neck of the bottle, leaving the bulb itself inside the bottle. In fact, the lamp from the bottle is ready. It remains only to decorate it: hang a lampshade, paint, etc.
